As a young rookie player joining a new team, getting to know your new team mates, how the team functions, practices, and the way the team players bond together, is a must for you to not only get along on the field, but to play well together. The goal for any rookie should be a smooth transition into their new team, and getting the best playing time with their new team mates on the field. So, learning the team rules, what the practice regime is like, when training and lifting takes place, and everything about how the team functions, is a must for that rookie to be able to fit in to the team, and ultimately become a role player for that team.I found some more information here.

So, rather than try to be the star, and try to outdo their team mates, rookies really have to step back, and allow the veterans on the team to be the leaders, and the rookies have to be willing to learn by example, and learn from those who have been with a team for quite some time. This is the best way to transition in, and to become a key member of the team they are joining.

The Phoenix Coyotes were a team that were considered under achievers for too long. They have always had a good infrastructure and a great fan base, however they have struggled to make any real impact on the Stanley Cup and on hockey in general. However, that changed in 2010. This was the year that they finally made it back where they belonged, in the Playoffs. It had been a long time coming, and they did not enjoy much success, but it was just a relief to be back amongst the best teams in the NHL.

2011 was a similar season for the Coyotes. They again clinched a playoff place, but again they were denied in the first round and swept 4-0. It was a disappointing end to what had been a promising season. However, in 2011-2012 the Coyotes are going to be looking to go one better. They want to really make an impression on the playoffs. They want to go all the way to the Stanley Cup final. While winning may be a step too far for them, they really aim to be in the finals or the semi finals. To do this, everyone will need to peak at the right time and they will need to avoid late season injuries. If they can do this, they just may spring a few surprises. The hits keep comin’: Phoenix Coyotes 2011-12 Season: Will This Be Their Last in Arizona?

If all you know about Arizona comes from old movies on Direct tv you may be surprised at what you find. It’s a sport friendly state with a lot to see
Diamondbacks Stadium: If you’re into baseball and can’t make it out during hockey season, take in a Diamondbacks game at the state of the art stadium right in downtown. You’ll get great views and the temperate Phoenix weather is sure to be fine.
PING Golf Factory: Did you know PING was headquartered here? If you like the links you can sign up for one of two daily tours to see what goes on inside a real live golf club factory. Pretty cool for men and boys.
Phoenix International Raceway: NASCAR isn’t as big here as it is in the south but wouldn’t you know it, Phoenix has a state of the art track. If you happen to be in town around race time traffic may be bad but you’ll get the chance to see a race.

For Phoenix Coyotes fans, this year the offense will have a whole new look. They drafted some young centers in the 2011 NHL Draft and brought in some new grinder types to keep their stars safe. Ray Whitney will enter his 20th season and with the new addition of tough guy Raffi Torres, the team looks to have all the pieces to be successful.

Most of the teams in the NHL that are successful have a combination of youth, veteran leadership and skill. That is just what the Coyotes appear to have this season. Long time goal scorer Shane Doan returns after leading the team in goals last season and with new draft picks that show youth and promise for being so young. Other players like Kyle Turris and Maxim Vrbata have shown great strides and seem to be the in prime years of their careers. The team appears to be the fastest team they have ever had and with a few good offensive minded defenseman, many people expect the team to have a 30 goal scorer at least.

Super Wayne Gretzky has done a heck of a job putting together a team that can compete in the Pacific and hopefully beat those dang Red Wings in the first round.

With a whole new look, the Phoenix Coyotes are looking to finally get over the hump and make a deep playoff run. A new goaltender will be leading the defense this season after 3 year starter Ilya Bryzgalov left for the east coast. The Coyotes turned their focus towards improving their defense this off season and with the addition of new players, the Coyotes defense looks to be among Pacific’s best.

The Coyotes blueliners have the perfect combination of veteran leadership and new young talent to improve their overall defense. 38 year old, Adrian Aucion is entering his 17th season and will be a mentor to many of the young and new defenseman that have arrived in Phoenix.I found some more information here. The Coyotes have a lot of trust in their 24 year old Keith Yandle who just signed a multi-year deal with the team. He looks to be the franchise defenseman for years to come and will make big plays for the Coyotes. The good thing about the defense is that even with Aucoin, they are very young as a hole. Yandle, Chris Summers, David Schlemko and Oliver Ekman-Larsson are all under 25 years of age and all show major promise. Throw in a handful of other middle aged defenseman that have a good combination of experience and skill.

Look for the youth of the system to show promise in the 2011-2012 season. Yandle lead the team in assists last year and with his new contract, he looks to have a career season.

In their fourteen years as a hockey club, the Phoenix Coyotes have made it a point to not only employ veterans amongst their television and radio booths, but to also nurture along young broadcasting talent as well as former players.

The current trio voicing the calls on the television side is made up of broadcast veteran Dave Strader providing play by play, former Phoenix Coyote player Tyson Nash (and recipient of the team’s coveted Man Of The Year award in 2004) supplying the color commentary and longtime Coyotes associate Todd Walsh who dutifully handles the double duty of hosting both the television and radio broadcasts.

In the radio booth, fan favorite Bob Heethius provides the exciting play by play that fans across the state of Arizona tune in to hear every game night. Heethius has been calling the team’s games for the past six seasons, but made his mark previously as the studio host for all of the team’s radio shows, including the popular post-game call-in show “Coyotes Wrap-Up Show” where fans give the aptly nicknamed “Heeter” a piece of their mind after a triumphant Coyotes win or a troubling defeat.

Coyotes television broadcasts air on Fox Sports Arizona while the radio broadcasts can be found on THE FAN 1060 AM.

The Phoenix Coyotes have been so close to breaking through the NHL’s elite in the past few seasons. The club is improving with every season but the 2011-2012 season offers new challenges for Coyotes. For the past 3 seasons, the team has had a go to starting goalie in Ilya Bryzgalov and he is considered one of the world’s best. With his contract expiring and Ilya leaving for the East coast, a lot of Coyote fans have been wondering who will be between the pipes come next season.

Although Phoenix lost their franchise netminder, they wasted no time jumping on available free agents and signed two goalies who have shown promise in the NHL. After Bryzgalov left, the long time back up Jason Labarbera was signed to an extension to stay with the team. They front office then went out and signed Curtis Mcelhinney and Mike Smith. Mcelhinney played in Ottawa and Anaheim last season and Smith was battling for a starting role with Tampa Bay before Dwayne Roloson came to town. That leaves the Coyotes with three capable goalies who have had some degree of NHL experience. They are all big guys and have the ability to carry a team on their back. Each of them has some skills that outweigh the other goaltenders on the roster. Mike Smith seems to be the consensual starter as of now, the way he plays the puck is considered the best in the league and his 6″ 4′ body size can make a few saves.
